Grabber tool
Toilet safety rail
Bed rail
Bed ladder assist
Shoe horn
Cane
Bed wedge pillow
If you have a dog and a backyard, get a poop scooper
Comfy soft clothes
Sweatpants
Sweaters with zippers instead of pullovers
Tight tanktops to wear under your back brace. You'll sweat more with the brace on and it was suggested to have tight tanktops so that it doesn't rub against your skin if it's too loose when you put the tight brace on
Shoes without laces, or prepare stuffing your laces on the side of the shoes so you can step in easily
It would be more convenient when you have a car that sits higher so you can get in and out with less discomfort and pain. I drive a Camry and it sits really low, getting in and out was a terrible experience during the recovery period, the rigid back brace on also doesn’t help but I’d keep it on to make sure you don’t make wrong movements (bending/twisting)
In line with the previous tip, for your drive back to the hotel after surgery, request a cab that sits higher and not the lower sedan ones. This made a huge difference getting in and out while feeling weak from the procedure
